Student achievement is linked to numerous factors.  Learning new strategies to improve the quality of instruction is a critical component.  My workshops enable parents, teachers, and administrators to improve how we address literacy needs in the home and at the school level.  

Workshops can be presented at PTO meetings, Professional Development meetings, and Administrative meetings to help educational stake holders understand how to meet the needs of different students and excel them to the next level in their literate lives.  

The Reluctant Reader

This workshop will focus on children who are having trouble with reading. We'll cover recent brain research, delays that may be creating problems, and different approaches necessary to reach each child.

Engaging Boys in Reading

Boys like lessons that end in a product. They like competitive games and motor activity. This workshop will focus on how to get boys to read literature and address unsolved problems. Combining teamwork, competition, and self-direction is the key.

Dealing with Academic Anxiety

The difference between crumbling in tears at the first sign of adversity or dealing with the stress and figuring out how to move forward to some sort of resolution. This workshop will focus on:
